An excellent essay, and the best part of it was this statement: "I'm rich in the things that will never be taken or snatched away from me."
And that is a fundamental truth of life. Any one of us could lose all our possessions in a fire. Any one of us could come home to find that our homes have been burglarized, and our most treasured "things" have been stolen.
But some things cannot be stolen, or destroyed in a fire, or otherwise taken from us. And those are the things that make us "rich," regardless of how much money we have or don't have, regardless of how many valuable things we own or don't own, regardless of anything. The only real "treasures" we ever have are those that exist within ourselves.
Hello again, Ms. Barrie--
An excellent essay, and the best part of it was this statement: "I'm rich in the things that will never be taken or snatched away from me."
Too many people never understand that.
